We finished the Ephesians series, so beginning this Sunday we turn our attention to I John, written roughly between the years of 85 to 95 AD. Chris Rush kicks off this new study with “The Word of Life“.
The book of 1 John seeks to assure the Christian that their faith in Christ is not frivolous or “just another” cultural option. John’s writing empowers believers to see that they have indeed flourished in their allegiance, moving from plain and maybe joyless lives to being far more spiritual, eager to connect fully to Christ and each other for support and fellowship.
John’s writing is (still) an effort to reassure: the truths surrounding Jesus were certainly far removed from the superficial religious thoughts and practices from false teachers interested in promoting their individual agendas.

Great Plains will not hold services Sunday January 25th.
Stay safe at home, fire up the ol' stove, and mix up some hot chocolate to enjoy as you read the Bible.
